Region 47 Regional Commissioner Election
As of December 31, 2024, Terry Kelly, our current Regional Commissioner, term of office is complete.
Beginning July 18, 2024, AYSO Region 47 is accepting applications for the role of Regional Commissioner. The Regional Commissioner role requires a time commitment averaging 25-30 hours per week. During the months of the Fall and Spring seasons, program hours can increase depending on program requirements, meetings, and special events.

Qualifications to be eligible to nominate yourself or be nominated for this position are
· Preferably a current or past Regional Board member
· A registered volunteer in good standing with Region 47
Once all applications are received, they will be reviewed by the current Region 47 Executive Board. The vote is set for November 4, 2024, and the Executive Board Members in place at the time of the open nominations will be eligible to vote. Once that process is complete, the Area Director will forward this update to the Section Director and then to the AYSO National Board of Directors for approval.
The current RC term ends at the end of this calendar year so the voted-in candidate will become the RC Elect starting on January 1, 2025.

Role of the Nominating Committee:
The nominating committee shall submit its list of one or more names of individuals who they have determined to be qualified as candidates for the position of RC to the Regional Board. The voting members of the Regional Board shall, by a majority vote, nominate an RC and forward such nomination to the Area and Section Director, whose territory includes the Region. If both the Area Director and Section Director approve of the nomination of the person as Regional Commissioner, then the nomination will be forwarded to the National Board of Directors for election.
